Today, Wednesday 14th of January 2026, I raised the issue of the existing rights of victims of crime following the release of a perpetrator from prison or an institution with the Minister for Justice, Jim O’Callaghan, during Topical Issues. I highlighted the case of Fionnuala Bourke with the Minister and discussed the potential scope of victims’ rights in the context of that situation.

Last week in the Dáil, I raised the issue of special school places at Finglas Parochial National School with Minister of State at the Department of Education and Youth, Michael Moynihan. I welcome the Minister's commitment to ensuring that this remains a priority to allow all children to receive a full school space as soon as is practicable.
